The credit crunch has steadily caused more and more people to feel forced to clamp down on their spending and attempt to save what money they can. With prices clambering whilst wages stay the same, millions of British people are struggling to live the lives they’re used to – which probably means that plenty have already decided a holiday away this year is off the cards.
This needn’t be the case. Although many can’t afford a big trip away this year, there are plenty of other options that will see you getting a well-deserved break without having to worry you’re breaking the bank. For example, this year will see many Britons ditching the continental flights and holidaying at home in the UK instead.
These holidays may not be beachside retreats, but they’re still a lot of fun and a great way to strengthen your connection to the UK. It is your home, after all – and can you say you know every city that well?
UK city breaks can be cheap and just as enjoyable as a trip further afield. With a host of different cities to choose from, each adorned with its very own, very distinctive personality, Britain has far more to offer than you might expect. Whether you prefer the bustling drive of English capital London or the musical delights of Manchester, you’ll be sure to find a UK city perfect for your break away.
It’s important to take holidays, even if only for a few days. And a trip to another UK city can be surprisingly different to what you’re used to. If you live somewhere like London, why not take a trip up to Glasgow and see an altogether different style of life? Similarly, Birmingham-dwellers could try out Edinburgh and Aberdeen residents might visit York to see just how widely the UK varies from city to city.
Best of all, you’ll know by currency when you’re getting a great deal on hotels, food and drink – as well as visiting a wide range of attractions that’ll show you just how diverse and fascinating British cities can be. So whatever city you have your eye on for your break away from the recession the year, UK cheap city breaks are becoming more and more popular by the day – so plenty of opportunities to discover more of the famous British isles.

Are You One of the Millions That Could Benefit from an Airline Miles Credit Card http://balashiha.su/?p=926 http://balashiha.su/?p=926#respond Mon, 14 Nov 2011 04:08:55 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=926 Are You One of the Millions That Could Benefit from an Airline Miles Credit Card?

That’s a question credit users are asking themselves these days with increasing frequency. We’ve all heard the buzz about airline miles credit cards. After all, who wouldn’t be talking about a way to use credit to manage their everyday expenses while being rewarded for it with free airline miles? However, we all know that a program’s being beneficial doesn’t necessarily mean it’s right for us. The following are a few guidelines to help you determine whether or not you stand to benefit in a big way by applying for a frequent flyer credit card.

You travel at least occasionally.

Do you have family that lives far enough away to necessitate the occasional airline ticket purchase? Do you ever travel by plane on vacation or for business purposes? Do you tend to spend money on hotel accommodations and car rentals when away from home? If so, then you could be saving a bundle on your travel expenses by trading in your traditional credit card for an airline mileage credit card, as you’ll be earning points to help you with all of the above.

Just imagine the possibilities! Let’s say your monthly expenses total $3,000 each month and you typically use your credit card to manage and consolidate them. What if your credit company were willing to match that $3,000 with a minimum of 3,000 free airline miles to use toward your next ticket? Could you find a use for them? Then you can benefit from an airline miles credit card.

You need a credit provider that really takes care of you.

Airline miles credit providers have what is considered to be some of the best customer service in the entire credit business. To start with, you’ll have access to knowledgeable, efficient customer service representatives 24 hours a day. If you have questions or concerns regarding your account, they’ll put your mind at ease in a flash. Many frequent flyer creditors also provide 24-hour fraud protection. You can’t police your account all the time, and when you can’t? Your credit provider is there making sure all is as it should be. Many accounts even offer 24 hour concierge service to help you find events tickets and make reservations while you’re away from home… all just to make your vacation a little bit more special. How can you beat that?

You pay your balance off in full each month.

If you’re the type of person who pays their credit balance off in full at the end of each month, then you are among those that actually stand to make money by applying for one of these cards. Credit providers glean an income through the interest they charge on existing balances. If you never allow your balance to accumulate interest, then your benefits are truly free. The best way to use credit – especially rewards-oriented credit – is to utilize it to manage necessary expenses and consolidate bills and pay off everything owed at the end of each billing cycle. Then the creditor is basically paying you in airline miles to use their service. You win!

So if you have great spending habits, want to get the most out of your credit program, and could find a use for the occasional free airline ticket, you really can’t afford to be without an airline miles credit card. Compare programs online, fill out an application online afterward, and you could be making more of your credit within seconds! What are you waiting for?

The World of Discount Cheap Airfares http://balashiha.su/?p=8687 http://balashiha.su/?p=8687#respond Thu, 06 Oct 2011 06:45:28 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=8687 The World of Discount Cheap Airfares!

Almost all kinds of travel become damn expensive during school holidays, especially flights. Ah! If you have got children, are you planning to leave them behind? Well, we suggest you to not to hurt your children’s feelings. With all such tough competition among various airline companies, you can still avail those dreamy cheap airfares which were almost impossible some times ago and give your family a splendid holiday laden with thorough fun and love.

The best period to use consolidators is during high peak times of the travel. Apart from peak travel times consolidators won’t offer much cheap airfares than those given in the lowest advertised fares. Still, you can avail 20-30% off when you plan to travel during Christmas, for example.

Try using credit cards with consolidators. Some consolidators can charge really high fees if you make any kind of change in your travel plans and even cancel your flight. So make a point to go through their policy on cancellations and refunds beforehand. Though the per seat charges of such a flight would be comparatively lower than the actual competition, there are still some few cost savings possibilities in a quite long journey, therefore long journey cheap operator would find it quite difficult to differentiate itself from some conventional airline. You can take membership of certain clubs and associations and avail discounts for selected destinations from them. The best could be that in this whole process you may end grabbing flat discount of some denomination to certain destinations. Well, without all these efforts too, you can still get cheap airfares if you decide to plan your vacation a little earlier.

Yes, the most important aspects here are to compare prices with flight dates and schedules while shopping for cheap airfares and inexpensive airline tickets online. One thing that can highly be turmoil and affect travel budget is the seasonal variations. You will disclose that finding and buying airline tickets is fun and quite easy. Traveling during mid week is an awesome option if looking for cheap airfares. Traveling during these days will leave you with relatively much cheaper airline tickets than flying during weekend times that is Saturday or Sunday.

Because of the tremendous growth in inexpensive carriers, these airlines have started to fight and compete with each other in addition to the traditional air carriers. More the flexibility you possess in your plans, better are the chances of getting low-cost airfares. Try different options through different departure and return dates if possible. Also, midnight flights can help you save some good amount of money for later fun at vacation. Shop around; this is because every travel related website has a different relationship with airline companies. So, it’s better to check more than one website before purchasing cheap airfare.

Tatkal Reservation in the Indian Railways http://balashiha.su/?p=8174 http://balashiha.su/?p=8174#respond Mon, 05 Sep 2011 17:11:45 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=8174 Tatkal Reservation in the Indian Railways

Tatkal reservation in the Indian railway is a very convenient system for those who could not make reservation in the normal procedure.  ‘Tatkal’ means ‘immediate’ and this facility is available in most of the trains and train routes.  In the past, the trains on which tatkal journey was allowed were indicated with a ‘T’ at the end of the train number.  But now that system has come to an end.  If you want to avail the tatkal scheme, you need to apply at least 2 days in advance.  The 2 days prior date is exclusive of the day of journey.  This is in effect 3 days prior booking.  Tatkal trains are not exclusive for tatkal passengers only.   As a matter of fact, this facility is arranged on regular express trains. A few special coaches are attached to express trains for tatkal arrangements.

Those who are going to avail the tatkal reservation facility of the Indian railway need to know that this sort of reservation is available for the full length of the journey of the rain.  For instance, suppose the train starts from Chennai and its final stop is New Delhi, but you want to board the train at Hyderabad and detrain at Bhopal, you will have to book a ticket for the entire length of the journey of the train and not of your journey.  That is, you have to book a ticket from Chennai to Delhi, not from Hyderabad to Bhopal.   However, in some cases there are exceptions to this rule.

While you book your seat under tatkal scheme in the Indian railways, you will have to remit additional amount than the ordinary charges.  This additional charge may be Rs.50 or Rs.200 or sometimes it can be as high as Rs.200 depending on the class and distance of the journey.  In order to book ticket under the tatkal scheme, you need to produce a photo affixed Identity Document. This identification document can be your Passport, PAN Card, Credit Card, Driving License, etc.   Photo identification card is essential for the tatkal passenger on the train also when the Traveling Ticket Examiner (TTE) asks for it.  Your ID number is noted on the ticket by the TTE to ensure that the ticket is not sold in the black market.  You can book for up to a group of 6 passengers under one ticket and for that only one ID is sufficient.  Cancellation provision for tickets is not available for tatkal ticket.  You cannot cancel a tatkal ticket.  Even then, this scheme is a boon for those who are in an emergency.

The Best Way to Travel on a Budget http://balashiha.su/?p=8361 http://balashiha.su/?p=8361#respond Tue, 09 Aug 2011 12:05:40 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=8361 The Best Way to Travel on a Budget

Well you won’t be traveling to Monaco and staying at a five star resort on a budget, will you? Maybe so!  Mostly, traveling on a budget means finding the cheapest price for the experience you want.

When traveling on a budget it’s best to keep in mind the following points:

1. Travel in the off-peak seasons. You can save up to as much as fifty per cent off air flights and accommodation costs if you plan to travel in low season times.

2. Stay away from popular tourist spots (unless they are on your ‘must-see’ list). If you can go off the beaten track with your destinations, things can be cheaper to see and do and your cultural experiences will be richer.

3. Try camping. Not only is it the cheapest form of accommodation it’s a great way to get up close and personal to nature. It’s the best way to see National Parks and Heritage listed areas.

4. Look for special travel offers (or packages). But make sure you check everything that they include – and don’t include.

5. Invest in a travel pass where you are able. Most developed countries have a rail or bus transport system where you can obtain day, week or monthly passes that will get you around cheaply.

6. Get a work permit if you aim to gain employment while traveling overseas. Working can help subsidize places that aren’t so cheap, such as Europe and Australia.

7. Look for good exchange rates on the dollar. This may help you decide which country to travel to.

8. Think about shortening your visit to destinations that are expensive and increasing your length of stay in cheaper places.

9. Where possible use your credit card. The exchange rate is better.

10. When staying in a hotel, avoid paying for ‘extras’. Don’t touch anything from the honor bar. Don’t watch the in-house movies and don’t use the hotel phone. And try not to use room service too much!

On the world scene there are some great places to travel on a budget for under thirty dollars a day. In Asia you can try India, Laos, China, Cambodia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Thailand, Sumatra and Burma. In Central and South America you can visit El Salvador, Bolivia and Ecuador. If you are after a budget experience in the Pacific, try Fiji or New Zealand. Over in Africa there are some great budget destinations such as Kenya, Egypt, Morocco, Malawi, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Ghana. Don’t forget the Middle East where places like Iran, Syria and Turkey provide excellent value for money and wonderful experiences for the budget traveler.

There is no ‘best place’ to travel on a budget. Just be prepared to look around, avoid the pitfalls of unwanted costs in package deals or hotel bookings. If you want to travel and your budget doesn’t meet your expectations, be flexible and see if there is somewhere cheaper you might like to experience. You could be pleasantly surprised with your stay in India or Iran, when you thought you wanted to go to Tahiti.

Use Concierge Services to the Best http://balashiha.su/?p=10111 http://balashiha.su/?p=10111#respond Fri, 29 Jul 2011 20:54:48 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=10111 Use Concierge Services to the Best

When we are on a tour, we usually desire that our groceries should be ordered, delivered and kept aside before we come home. This can be dealt with in various ways. However the most economical one is to offer a credit card number as well as budget to the concierge service to spend and grocery list to buy. However it is important to be practical with this budget as against the list. An expert concierge can easily do it for you. So you can save and enjoy the luxury of reaching the property to see it is stocked as per your wish.
If you love any activity like golfing, diving or fishing and intend to do it on your holiday, then ask a concierge to book a suitable excursion activity for you beforehand, so you can rest assured you can do it during your holidays. Actually, a concierge service can schedule any event beforehand. Make good use of this service. You will be surprised that a lot of it can be done either for free or at nominal cost.
A good concierge can understand their clients very well. They do have all the requisite information about local events like dates, times, tickets and availability. While information is priceless but is quite cheap.
Looking to go biking or seeing a local play? The concierge service can rent a bike or book tickets for you. They can deliver a newspaper or collect your clothes from laundry. All you need to do is simply ring them up. But the best part is the service does not cost much. But it will let you enjoy a carefree vacation.

Getting Around In Bangkok http://balashiha.su/?p=3923 http://balashiha.su/?p=3923#respond Tue, 26 Jul 2011 11:52:29 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=3923 Getting Around In Bangkok

If you come to visit Bangkok for the first time, one of the first things you will notice is the busy streets and the traffic. The city is very different from other cities in Europe. Don’t get your holiday ruined by hours of waiting in traffic! Reading this article will take approximately 5 minutes, and those five minutes can save you endless hours of waiting.

The busiest part of Bangkok is right in the middle. Around the edges of the city, the streets are a bit more calm. When travelling anywhere around Bangkok, you should always use as much public transport as possible. Trains are better than taxis because they don’t get stuck in traffic.

The best method of getting from A to B is by using the BTS Skytrain. As the name suggests, it’s higher up than the roads. The Skytrain is connected to most of the shopping centers, so it’s a perfect choice of transport for a shopping tour. Once you get there, you will have to buy a ticket; there are one way tickets available and also a day ticket, which you can use as much as you want in a day.

Another option is to get a ‘Smartpass’; this is a credit-card sized plastic card which you refill with money and then just swipe it on a sensor at the entrance gate. This is the best option if you decide to stay for quite a while. Another form of transport in the MRT, which is a subway line. This also connects to popular places like shopping malls.

The BTS station connects with the MRT at three different stations, so it is easy to just jump out of the BTS and head a few floors down, to the subway. The ticket system in the MRT is very similar to the one in the Skytrain. There are also tickets available which work for both the subway and the raised train. To get to places which are not connected to either of the train systems, you will need to take road transport.

Taxi is a good choice, but can be slow because of traffic. An alternative would be a motorbike taxi as they can squeeze through traffic easily. The downside of the motorbike taxi is that it can be quite dangerous on the busy roads of Bangkok, Thailand. And if the trip is not too short, walking is also an alternative. Have a safe trip and a great holiday!!

Compare Airfare and grab a great Flight Deal http://balashiha.su/?p=2366 http://balashiha.su/?p=2366#respond Tue, 12 Apr 2011 07:05:48 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=2366 Compare Airfare and grab a great Flight Deal

Are you looking for some cheap flights deal to any of the world’s hottest destinations? Well, you are absolutely in right place. I am going to disclose some places where you can actually get some of the best inexpensive flight deals to anywhere across the globe. But before traveling you need to finalize your budget to book flights. It’s just your budget that will completely decide that whether you are comfortable with low cost flights or with some known and major airlines like, British Airways, Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airway, Air France and many more. Most of the times people prefer deciding their budget first and then contact travel agent accordingly. You will find countless travel agents in your cities. After every 5 or 6 shops you will discover a shop of travel agent. But you got to be extremely careful while dealing with them. Make sure that the agent you choose is dealing with some of the major airlines. Don’t make a mistake of dealing with various travel agents at one time.

As per my opinion the best way to grab good flight deals to any particular destination is through online travel agents. You can easily find the splendid flight deals for any place while sitting at your home by online. You will discover thousands on the internet which provide cheap flights that will suit your pocket. But you need to be really careful while booking your air tickets. There are also many fake websites available on the internet which can take your credit card numbers and use your cards illegally. Do not forget to check whether the website is IATA or ATOL protected or not and it should be certified by VeriSign.

Also, don’t forget to compare airfare by changing departure and reach dates for a specified destination. Time and dates play a key role in grabbing a good flight deal. Flights during mid week turn out to be quite inexpensive than the one’s on weekends especially Saturday and Sunday. Alongside, mid night or early morning flights are also quite inexpensive. Adding to it, avoid traveling during peak seasons or festivals time as flight rates are damn costly during this time. Opt for off peak time travel. The best bargains in travel can be availed during these times.

If talking about safety along with huge savings, Globester.com is one such site which comes out to be quite advantageous. It’s totally protected with IATA and ATOL and is fully verified by VeriSign. Moreover, it promises you to introduce to some of the best flight deals for your next vacation.
