Want to experience heavenly beauty under water? En route to snorkeling in the Caribbean and you will discover how exciting the water world is. The beauty of aquatic life is explored using a tool called snorkel, having a mask attached to it. Snorkeling thus offers you an amazing opportunity to explore underwater life. However, there are a few essential things that one must exercise during the activity.

Snorkeling gives you an opportunity to relax. So make sure you make most of it without indulging yourself in too much analysis. Check out some of the tips to make your snorkeling even more enjoyable. These tips have been suggested considering that you already have well-fitting equipment.

  1. Ensure that the mask fits your face perfectly but allows you breathing through the nose. Make sure that no air leaks in, as this will also allow water to seep in. Also, it’s best to shave off your moustache or apply generous amount of Vaseline or sunscreen to act as a gasket. Do not tighten the strap too much as this might also cause the water to leak in after breaking the seal. The snorkel should be placed in front of the ear.
  2. Fins should be chosen with discretion. It is better to opt for snug ones than those that are too tight. Big fins will slip in easily when the feet are wet.
  3. You must have some defogging products for a clear view under water. Gel products, dog drool, plant extracts growing by the shore, or even a baby shampoo (with salt water) work well to get rid off the fog.
  4. Breathing practice through the snorkel with your head out of water is highly vital prior to experiencing the real sport. Suck the mask into your face and breathe through the mouthpiece throughout the length of the mouth. It’s also advisable to practice calm floating in face down and horizontal position.
  5. In case you flood your mask by accident, raise your head by pulling the lower edge away from the mouth to drain out the water.
  6. Use your fins judiciously, keeping your knees and ankles relaxed. Avoid using bicycle type kicks and treat your fin as though they were the soft flowing tail of a mermaid!
  7. Last, but the most vital of all,be relaxed during the entire activity. If you panic, your movements might create an alarm in the aquatic environment. On the contrary, while you stay calm, the aquatic animals too remain calm and resume their normal activity.

Some of the best locations for snorkeling are found in the various beaches of the Caribbean. Out of them, Roatan surpasses all others in terms of beauty and space. There has been a gradual rise in the number of people booking for Roatan tours. A trip to this beautiful island will also allow you to experience the fun the thrill of Roatan snorkeling. So get into the groove to be a part of the amazing sport- just keep a good ear to the afore-mentioned advice.

Water Sports In Maldives – Excitement Guaranteed http://balashiha.su/?p=10433 http://balashiha.su/?p=10433#respond Tue, 29 Nov 2011 11:30:58 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=10433 Water Sports In Maldives – Excitement Guaranteed!

Although the Maldives is not a destination which attracts surfers by the thousands, these tropical waters generate friendly waves which are ideal for novice surfers who just want to have a good time out among the waves. While many of the resorts located on the Maldivian Islands offer good quality surfing equipment at reasonable prizes, you do not have to worry about travelling with your own surf board. Windsurfing is another activity visitors could engage in while in the Maldives. As reasonable winds are on offer during most hours of the day, a trip to one of the wind surfing schools will give you the training you need to handle yourself well on the water.

Among the variety of water sports on offer, perhaps the most popular activity among visitors to the Maldives is snorkeling. While only certified divers are allowed to explore the farthest depths of the Maldivian seas, anyone can put on a pair of goggles and float over the shallow reefs where you can find all sorts of corals, starfish, crabs and other sea creatures that call these shallow waters their home. The level of visibility is simply amazing which enables visitors to see what lies beneath the waves with great detail. Most resorts located on these islands have their own reef where you can spend hours in the water admiring its beauty.

If you want to try your hand at something really challenging, water skiing is what you’re looking for. You will be able to book a water skiing trip from a local resort where you will get the chance glide on the water at break neck speeds which will give you a rush that is beyond words. Para-sailing, catamaran sailing and big game fishing are some of the other water related activities which you can also try your hand at while in Maldives.

John Keells Hotels Group is the proud owner of several Maldives hotels which are known to offer comfortable accommodation along with excellent service. Plan the Perfect Adventure Vacation on Tripmama http://balashiha.su/?p=6923 http://balashiha.su/?p=6923#respond Thu, 23 Jun 2011 04:57:55 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=6923 Plan the Perfect Adventure Vacation on Tripmama.com, the First Air Fare Compare Website

There are so many adventurous places to go and see, however, you haven’t been to one place. You haven’t climbed one rock or experienced white water rafting down one river. And the reason for this is of course, money. You just don’t have the money to take off whenever you want, or you don’t have the money to save. Guess what? An adventure vacation is possible; you just need a few tips to help you out!

Decide early when you’d like to go and which action-packed quest appeals to you. Many guided tours, such as white water rafting, rock climbing or safaris give discounts for early booking. The tourism trade wants to guarantee their spots are filled. Companies discount early booking to measure what the interest of the public is at that particular time to price the majority of their openings.

If the idea of booking early is unappealing or if you are more of the spontaneous type, you will be able to find last minute deals. Search online and you’ll find tours at greatly reduced rates solely to fill their remaining vacancies.

Being a family has its rewards also. Many tours are geared for family adventures with the hopes of you and your family returning annually. Child-friendly tours are safe and fun experiences for everyone.

There are other budget friendly tips to take into consideration. Before booking your vacation, figure out the type of scenery that appeals to you, compare airfare and fly there with your equipment already in hand. It doesn’t cost much for a backpack, small tent, sleeping bag and non-perishable food. Pack the items you can carry in your backpack and trek through the landscape of your choice. There are reasonable tours for this type of activity, but if you surf the net instead, you’ll find maps for trails, spots that are safe, advice from fellow trekkers, all which save you money.

If you love peace and quiet and you love to fish, then a good idea would be to invest in fishing gear. Take an airplane to Canada or another destination of your choice, with your equipment in tow. Fishing licenses are inexpensive and your gear is yours to be used again and again. There are how-to websites, videos and books to instruct you on fly fishing or sitting beside the water and casting a reel.

Have fun and remember, because your vacation sounds expensive, doesn’t mean that it has to be!

How to avoid altitude sickness in the high mountains http://balashiha.su/?p=4706 http://balashiha.su/?p=4706#respond Fri, 07 Jan 2011 19:35:29 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=4706 How to avoid altitude sickness in the high mountains

Let me tell you a little about myself. I am 26. I grew up in East Cornwall; my parents ran their own business. Their business sold fuel saving devices for cars that were highly magnetic- that’s the devices that were magnetic, not the cars obviously. Over time some of the distributors who indirectly worked for the company selling the products began to notice that the dodgy knees, bad hips and other complaints they had been carrying around for years seemed to be feeling a lot better when they had been carrying the devices around in their pockets. This prompted my father to do some research.

Magnetic therapy, or magnotherapy, was nothing new, in fact its roots can be traced back to ancient china, but this represented an important milestone in the development and increasing popularity of magnotherapy in this country. His research into and increased understanding of the complex biophysical interactions between living cells and magnetic fields led to him receiving the prestigious BT Award for Innovation, while his magnotherapy company appeared twice in the Sunday Times/Virgin list of Top 100 Fastest Growing Privately Owned Companies. His original CRP magnet module became the world’s leading magnotherapy product and remains the only magnetic bracelet to complete a successful clinical trial under an approved medical protocol.

Though I heard many stories and examples of the products helping people and animals (including a male elephant at Whipsnade Safari Park who was not able to fulfil his duties as part of the park’s breeding program because of a bad back. After a jumbo sized magnetic strap was made, he was able to continue, much to the delight of the keepers and lady elephants) I never had any experiences of their benefits myself. That was until last year when I travelled to India.

I began my four month trip to India in the far north. I flew from Delhi to Leh, the largest town in the ancient former kingdom of Ladakh, a beautiful Buddhist region with its own unique culture nestled high in the Himalayas close to the Chinese border. It is in fact, the highest inhabited place in the world.

As you can imagine, flying directly from Delhi, averaging around 250 metres above sea level, to Leh, 3500 metres above sea level, is quite an adjustment for the body to handle, and most people suffer from altitude sickness to some degree when they arrive. I made three friends quite quickly when I arrived.

Of the three of us, I was the only one who did not have to put themselves to bed with a pounding headache, and I, of course, was wearing one of the magnetic bracelets sold by my father’s old company, which he had by now sold. One of my new friends was suffering so badly after during the first two days that after a glass of mint tea (supposedly good for the stomach) she was physically sick in the street. I lent her my magnetic bracelet, and in the morning she felt much better.

During a tough mountain trek a few days later, our entire party (besides our local guides) were suffering terrible from headaches and nausea after a very tough day’s trek. I however, whilst not without symptoms, was the only one who felt well enough to sit with our guides and eat dinner.

A new and improved design has now been produced, and represents a further development of the theories that made the earlier design so effective, successful and popular. It may not be the first thing that comes tom mind when you are deciding on equipment for your next adventure, but perhaps it should be on the list.

Family Travel – How to Make Plans http://balashiha.su/?p=3406 http://balashiha.su/?p=3406#respond Tue, 28 Sep 2010 17:27:07 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=3406 Family Travel – How to Make Plans

When you go on a luxurious vacation, be prepared to shell out premium price. However, you tend to pay less when you make detailed plans.

To start, make clear and concise goals. Do you need the vacation for healing purposes? Or just traveling to relax your mind. Different people travel for different reasons. Try to reconcile your needs with those of your travel companions. To avoid tension, be sure to discuss your plans openly with whoever you are traveling you. Come to a common understanding early.

Everything else becomes easier to plan for when you are clear about what you want. For example, if you are traveling to relax, focus more on that. Who will you be traveling with? Make a list of the equipment that you will need. How many days do you intend to spend golfing? It is sometimes good to have variety.

Variety actually helps to keep your entertained throughout the entire trip. You want want to plan for a massage session after a full day of sight seeing. Your vacation will then be filled with fun and exciting activities.

In sum, make sure that your plan works in your favor. Don’t set yourself up for more stress. Distractions are abundant, so you must be careful not to let them spoil your vacation. If possible, leave all your work and worries behind. Having some peaceful moments to yourself is rare and precious. Your travel plan will help you achieve that.

Now is the time to choose a luxury vacation destination. Where would be most ideal? Each destination will have its own unique characteristics. But there will be a place that will appeal to your own personal preferences.

On luxury holidays, you will be staying in villas instead of resorts. We are not talking about resorts here. Villas are private dwellings with their very own facilities. They are very private, and offers a lot of peace and quiet. For this simple reason, the rental will be much higher. But in return, you get more space.

The most expensive destinations are those from developed countries. This is because real estate prices are high in such countries. Therefore, you can expect the prices of such villas to be two or three times more than villas in other destinations.

For a much lower price, you can enjoy staying in villas in Asian countries. In these countries, land is a lot cheaper, and you get to enjoy breath taking scenery and beautiful beaches without having to pay premium prices.

In addition, you will also see sights that you don’t normally see in western destinations. For example, you can visit temples and learn more about the eastern culture. A quick visit to Bali, and you will immediately experience what we have just mentioned. Even the architecture of the villas look and feel different. Depending on your group, you may stay on small villas with one to three rooms, or larger villas with 4 to 5 rooms.

When you stay in an Asian villa, you save a lot of money, and you enjoy similar experiences. You just have to know where to look. Other interesting luxury destinations include Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Hawaii, and Caribbean.

A New Clubbing Holiday Destination To Try http://balashiha.su/?p=413 http://balashiha.su/?p=413#respond Tue, 10 Aug 2010 14:11:19 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=413 A New Clubbing Holiday Destination To Try

No matter how much clubbers enjoy a particular place to party in, there becomes a point where a stale sort of boredom sets in as much as we try and dismiss it.  We yearn for something that little bit different in order to induce some fresh excitement in our clubbing experiences.  Variety, after all, is the spice of life!  Clubbing venues nearly always feel better the first time you visit them, but you quickly run out of new places to go to.
Many would agree that the Balearic Islands of Majorca, Ibiza and Menorca offer the best clubbing holiday experiences around.  The general trend seems to see clubbers testing the water by travelling to Majorca first to try out the bars and clubs of Magaluf.  It’s a great introduction into the Balearic Island clubbing scene, as clubbers get to party in famous night spots like BCM.  The natural progression from there is to move onto the white isle of Ibiza, where clubbing is at its absolute finest.  Days can be spent partying on Bora Bora beach in Playa d’en Bossa, before heading back to enjoy the sunset on the relaxing sunset strip in San Antonio.  Once the sun sets the serious partying begins as clubbers descend on the island’s super clubs which are spread across western Ibiza, with the likes of Pacha, Space, Privilege and Amnesia (classed as some of the biggest and best clubs in the world!) staying open until sunrise.  After a few hours sleep it’s time to do it all over again!  This stays fun and novel for one, two or maybe even three holidays, but eventually most veteran clubbers feel the need to experience something a bit different, quirky and perhaps a little more refined…
This is hopefully where holidays in Menorca can come to the rescue and offer you something that you might not yet have considered.  Located in the resort of Cala’n Porter, there is a magnificent club called the ‘Cova d’en Xoroi’ which is actually set dramatically into the side of the cliff face and has spectacular views out to sea.  This well kept secret opens in the morning and plays ambient chill out music which is great for relaxing to.  You can then enjoy a cocktail as you watch the sun go down later in the day, before you let your hair down afterwards as the pace picks up when night falls.  There are numerous areas to explore and you will be able to listen to some top dj’s who get to utilise state of the art sound and light equipment.  It is truly a unique, chic and contemporary setting, perfect for enjoying on a short jaunt to the island.  So hopefully this will be a new club for you to add onto your clubbing map and in a place that most people will have overlooked in favour of Majorca and Ibiza.

Camping equipment for the whole family http://balashiha.su/?p=1665 http://balashiha.su/?p=1665#respond Wed, 23 Jun 2010 17:08:37 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=1665 Camping equipment for the whole family

More and more families are switching to camping from conventional hotel and B & B holidays. They’ve discovered that with the wide range of outdoor equipment available from online stores like us at Outdoor World Direct, they can be just as comfortable as they would be in a chalet or hotel. What’s more, you’ve got the freedom to travel. If you don’t like the spot you’ve chosen – you can just up sticks (or poles) and move on. You can’t do this if you’ve just splashed out a couple of grand on a holiday cottage.
Camping under canvas can take some getting used to. Luckily, modern camping equipment is designed to make the transition as effortless as possible. Take dining, for instance. Once, it was a case of boy-scout tactics, a pot suspended over a campfire and ash in your coffee cup. Now, you can buy foldaway tables and chairs, camp kitchen units, and Calor gas hobs and ovens that work just like the ones at home. Many people love the latest twin-burner travel stoves and transportable grills – just as handy for a day out as a camping trip.
Of course, being Chef Ramsay on holiday doesn’t mean packing the kitchen sink, as most sites have washing-up facilities, but you may prefer to pack a washing-up bowl rather than queue for hours to use the one hot tap on the site. If you’ve got an electric hook-up, you’ve got the advantage of hot water from an electric kettle, rather than boiling it on a gas stove. Purchase one of the larger kitchen stands with a side-table and it will take up practically no room in the car, but will give you all the convenience of a self-catering fitted kitchen. Modern camping equipment is all about comfort, as well as style.
The one down-fall of living under canvas is that you can hear every sound – including your fellow campers snoring. If you have pets or young children, there’s the added problem of cars. Most sites allow you to park right next to your pitch, which can be dangerous at the height of the season.
Don’t ask why, but the busiest areas of the campsites always seem to be those nearest the toilet block. After that, it’s the water supply. So you’ll have a far quieter, safer time pitching well away from these two areas. This may mean you don’t get an electric hook-up, but it doesn’t mean you need to traipse half a mile to get water, or use the toilet. We at Outdoor World Direct sell large roll-along water carriers as well as camping toilets and toilet tents.  Our outdoor equipment pages include a range of non-electric lighting and food cooling options as well, meaning you can camp in seclusion and comfort.
Whether it’s getting water, emptying the Porta Potti or visiting the bar, you’ll need the correct footwear – so invest in good walking shoes for the whole family. If you decide on trainers, make sure you get them from an outdoor equipment specialist. That way, you’ll know they’ll be waterproof and sturdy enough for all terrains – giving you the option to really get away from it all and head for the hills.
