We all use home appliances with some using them more than others, our day to day activities mean home appliances get used very often and as such they use a considerable amount of energy. We are all being encouraged to live our lives in a more environmentally friendly way and as such the government is helping us with our homes in terms of the home improvements we make.

As a result of the environmental issues that exist many of the leading brands have released energy efficient models of all their products. These include all major products such as washing machines, dishwashers and tumble dryers and these will not only help you do your bit for the environment but will also, and more importantly for many people, having these types of appliances will help you save money on your utility bills each month.

Appliances are products that you will not have to buy on a regular occurrence as long as you buy a good quality appliance in the first instance. These are definitely investments for the future as a good quality home appliance should be lasting you 10 years at least.

Unfortunately there are plenty of appliances that do not meet the required standard and as such you need to be careful with what you are buying. Buying from a trusted brand such as Hotpoint, Beko or Bosch is a good way of ensuring that you have brought a high quality product.

There are many different appliances that can be brought for the home and if you have never had one break down on you then you are very lucky as those who have not been so lucky will tell you. Appliances are very important to the running of our homes and you don’t realise how much you rely on something until you can not use it.

The best place to find all home appliances is online where you can also take advantage of all the services available such as home delivery which saves you having to transport the appliance yourself. One of the best services that online stores offer is they will dispose of your old appliance in an environmentally friendly way. This helps you as well as disposing of your old appliance can be quite difficult and very tiresome.

For cheap tumble dryers make sure you search online where there are also some great cooker deals available.

Kerala Tour Operators: 5 Questions You Must Ask http://balashiha.su/?p=5600 http://balashiha.su/?p=5600#respond Sat, 08 Oct 2011 15:24:46 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=5600 Kerala Tour Operators: 5 Questions You Must Ask

It has been quite some time now that the virgin beaches and lush mountains and backwaters of Kerala in India have caught tourist attention. Kerala is now a hot potato in the tourism map of India and the international tourists- backpackers, honeymooners, as well as those traveling with families are increasingly opting for tours to Kerala with Kerala tour operators.

Now this is one more very important aspect of tours to Kerala – the tour operators. To begin with, it is always advisable to visit Kerala under some tour operator since much of the major beaches or sanctuaries in Kerala are located in regions with very less habitation and for a person without any knowledge of the local norms or language the situation might get slippery on occasions. Tour operators in Kerala are available in plenty, including the government owned machinery of Kerala Tourism. You can contact these travel agents over the internet which provides all details like telephone numbers and address.

However, whenever you are getting in touch with Kerala tour operators you should and must ask him a few questions. To begin with, the best time to travel to Kerala. The best time to travel to Kerala might vary according to your specific interests. If you are interested in the country boat race, you must visit the place in July-August. It is the time when the Nehru Trophy takes place in the Punnamada Lake in Alappuzha. On the other hand, if you are interested in the Nilgiri Tahr that can be seen in the forests of the Nilgiri Mountains, you must not visit in February. February is the breeding season for this goat and the Eravikulam National Park which is a shelter for the tahr, remains closed for 45 days beginning from the 1st of February.

The backwater cruises in Kerala are most popular with the tourists. Now backwater cruises come in different types of packages. Some offer daylong trips, some offer night stays while others offer several days long trips. You must ask your agent what kind of a trip he has in mind for you and also remember to ask your agent before jumping into the water whether that is a swimming zone or not.

To come to clothing; Kerala is located in the southern parts of India and remains quite hot in summer (April to September). Winter brings mild climate and the hill stations like Munnar demand light woolens during winter. The beaches and backwaters can be best enjoyed in soft cotton clothing.

Temple entry norms in Kerala are also very strict in Kerala and if you are not of Hindu origin, you would not be allowed to enter most of the Kerala temples. Adhere very closely to your travel agent’s advice regarding temples, else you might face trouble.

Since you would be traveling with your agent, you would not have to bother about the booking formalities to the hotels in Kerala, but you must not forget to make yourself clear on the kind of accommodation you want in terms of budget, hotel type, and more. There are various types of hotels in Kerala like beach resorts, eco tourism resorts, treetop cottages and much more.

Last but not the least, while you are free to sport bikinis on the beaches, avoid getting too cozy with your partner. Kissing and necking in public is considered bad behavior in India and Kerala is no exception.

Money Saving While on Holiday http://balashiha.su/?p=6304 http://balashiha.su/?p=6304#respond Sat, 30 Jul 2011 04:13:50 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=6304 Money Saving While on Holiday

As a child, I used to holiday in self catering accommodation with my parents. We’d hire a caravan for a week on one of those holiday parks. Check out http://www.travelglobal.co.uk/Self-Catering-Articles.php

I used to enjoy the environment as there was a pool and slot machines nearby, not to mention the beach and a small harbour where I went fishing.  They used to be fantastic holidays!

One of the things I remember is my parents cooking dinner. It was like home from home and I enjoyed it. I don’t think any child really enjoys eating out in restaurants like an adult does and anyway, the facilities you find these days for children, didn’t really exist in those days. I always deem myself lucky for those happy days. I would certainly recommend self catering for families.

We used to have a large breakfast in our self catering accommodation, then at lunch time, we would have something very light. For dinner, we would either eat out or have dinner where we were staying. As an adult now, I have done the same, and it works out quite a money saver. Of course, I didn’t have a large breakfast if I was going swimming in the morning!

To save money when I’m on holiday now, I usually eat in pubs as they tend to offer the best value for food. Without a shadow of doubt, eating out is the bulk of your spending on holidays, and this can be controlled quite easily without affecting your enjoyment.

What Is A FastPass -By Best Hotel Deals http://balashiha.su/?p=10540 http://balashiha.su/?p=10540#respond Fri, 08 Jul 2011 23:42:48 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=10540 What Is A FastPass -By Best Hotel Deals

Disneyland is one of the most popular attractions that people from all over the world love going to. In fact, there are some that even travel halfway around the world just to get there. You can expect that not a day goes by that the park is empty.

Due to the number of people visiting the park, long lines are always expected. Disney’s management has devised a way to solve this problem.

The Resolution

Aurora Lillo Editor of the “Best Hotel Deals” website — http://www.BestHotelDeals.biz — pointed out;

“…To help reduce long lines for popular attractions, Disney launched an innovative system in 1999. This system is called the FastPass. From the first day it was used up until now, it has been very successful…”

This pass is available to everybody. You do not need to have a special ticket to get one. As long as you have a ticket to the park, then you are entitled to a FastPass. This pass is not to be bought. It is already included with your admission fee. If a stranger approaches you and tries to sell you a pass, decline it.

The Mechanics

If you see a FastPass Attraction, you will notice 2 clocks. One will inform you on how long the wait is for entrances. The other will tell you the time that you come back if you have a FastPass ticket already.

Basically, FastPass is a system that can reserve you a ride while you go do something else. In this way, you will not have to waste your magical park time waiting in long lines. Once you get a FastPass for a certain attraction, you can go to other attractions. You can shop. You can eat. Do whatever you want to do. You still get to see the attraction as long as you go back at the specified time.

How To Get A FastPass Ticket

At the entrance of an attraction, you can spot the FastPass machine for that attraction. Approach the FastPass machine and present your admission ticket. Insert the card to the card slot. Do not force the card inside. Your FastPass ticket will be out in no time!

What Is Written In Your FastPass?

On your FastPass ticket, you will see some encoded information. Take note of these important details. The ticket will indicate the time frame that you can go back to that attraction. That is the period of time that you can return for the ride/attraction.

Do not forget that there are some attractions that have a window of only 10-15 minutes, like the Little Mermaid Show and Honey I Shrunk the Audience. It is better for you to just wait or simply stay within the area, so that you will not be late when your window comes around.

What To Do When It’s Your Window Already

As soon as your FastPass window or time frame arrives, it is important that you go back to the attraction. Go to the FastPass holders line. Make sure that you have secured your ticket and have your FastPass ready. Show it to the Cast Member. While waiting in line, a Cast Member will actually get your FASTPASS ticket.

Important Things To Remember

There are some important things that you should remember when using FastPass. If you have a FastPass, this doesn’t entitle you to bring your crew with you. They will need to get a FastPass ticket too. Nevertheless, getting a FastPass ticket can be done by one person only, as long as they have the admission tickets for everyone in the group.

“…If you have a baby or a toddler that came into the park for free, there is no need to get them a FastPass. You cannot go FastPass Hopping to different attractions. All ticketing machines issuing the pass are linked together. A machine will not issue you another, if you have not used the previous pass that you just received for a different attraction…” added A. Lillo.

Is a Vacation Too Expensive for your Tiny Budget http://balashiha.su/?p=5403 http://balashiha.su/?p=5403#respond Fri, 04 Feb 2011 04:37:09 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=5403 Is a Vacation Too Expensive for your Tiny Budget?

Mounting fuel costs have made travel more expensive than it used to be. A few cost-saving measures can help you to have a great vacation – even on a limited budget.

Hydration Economics

If you have done any research, you know that you shouldn’t drink local water when you travel. However, bottled water can take a significant chunk out of your wallet. Stock up on water at a discount department store before you leave. If you travel frequently, you might want to invest in reusable water bottles. Fill them at home, and take as much store-bought water as you can as well – while remaining within baggage weight restrictions. Check airline restrictions on liquids if you will be travelling by air.

Local Currency Exchange

You will always get the best exchange rates if you use a credit card or ATM machine. Alternatively, you can exchange money in a bank. Local stores and money changers are not likely to give you a good exchange rate. Sometimes their charges are exorbitant. An added plus for credit card purchases is the neatly organized statement you will have when you get back home.

Never Fly with Overweight Luggage

Always – always – always – be aware of airline weight restrictions. Sometimes they are very limiting. You can check the internet for specific regulations. Use a good scale to weigh your baggage (then reweigh) before you leave for the airport. Overweight luggage can be very expensive.

The Best Time to Travel

Avoid travel on weekends or during peak tourism season. The definition of ‘peak season’ will vary by country and hemisphere. Accommodations and tickets will be more expensive when everyone else wants to travel. Look for off season deals and discounts. If you’re not sure when off season is, find a bed and breakfast in your destination city and look at their website. They will probably have a range of rates that changes according to season.

Food is Expensive

Save money on meals by staying at a bed and breakfast. Free breakfast fare can range from continental to a full, hot-cooked meal with a multi-choice menu. (Some inns also have packages that include lunch and supper.) Conserve further by picking up lunch supplies at a local grocery store. Inexpensive suppers are available at McDonalds (with branches in over 100 countries).

Kids have Big Appetites

If you have kids, try to find a hotel with a ‘kids stay and eat free’ program. Some bed and breakfasts have packages for kids. However, many do not allow young children.

Barter with the Airlines

Use the internet to research airfares. Find the best deals and make printouts. Purchase your tickets through the cheapest website, or contact the airline’s toll-free number. If they don’t offer a matching fare, ask them to meet or beat the internet price. You may have to fax a printout or two – but it will be well worth the savings.

Cash, Student, and Corporate Discount Rates

Be sure to carry student or corporate ID with you. You may be eligible for a discount. (10% to 15% discounts are common.) Present your ID or business card at check-in and ask for a rate reduction. Small inns and hotels may be willing to offer a discount if you pay via cash instead of credit card. Credit card processing fees for a small company may run around 5%.

You are in Control

Seize the opportunity, research your options, and have a great worry-free vacation!

Costa Rica Family Adventure, Honeymoon, Vacation Packages, Custom Trips, Tour and Transportation Services http://balashiha.su/?p=2444 http://balashiha.su/?p=2444#respond Tue, 04 Jan 2011 15:54:34 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=2444 Costa Rica Family Adventure, Honeymoon, Vacation Packages, Custom Trips, Tour and Transportation Services

Having Visited Costa Rica, I have compiled a list of the best locations to
visit. This list is by no means comprehensive or complete, it is just a checklist
of all the places I would visit when I go to Costa Rica.
Monteverde Cloud Forest
Most famous for being associated with the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve,
the tiny community of Monteverde is a small village located near the
entrance of the cloud forest. Monteverde was founded by the Quaker community
that migrated from North America to Costa Rica in the 1950’s. In town, which
is actually Santa Elena, you’ll find banks, drug store, a local hospital,
book store, gas station, ATM machine, police station, post office,
supermarkets, internet cafes, restaurants
As the weather here is quite chilly and misty, due to the village being high
up in the Tilaran Mountain Range, you should bring some thick clothes and a
light jacket to stay warm. When here, do remember to try out the delicious
local cheeses, which are a treat to eat. If you are a bird watcher, this
village offers some lovely bird watching opportunities, even though you are
not in the cloud forest itself. However, if you prefer to do the more
touristy thing, visit the local craft centers, the women’s co-op center, the
butterfly garden and the Hummingbird Gallery in town.
Dominical Beach
Located on Costa Rica’s amazingly beautiful Central Pacific coastline, the
small village of Dominical is a surfer’s paradise where waves can reach over
10 feet high, a place rich in island biodiversity and amazing underwater
flora and fauna. It is the perfect combination between the extensive golden
coasts full of scenic beaches & luscious mountains.
Dominical is a 4 km long beach strip, with a few hotels, lodges, resorts and
restaurants in the area. While swimming here is near impossible with the
strong swells and rip tides, one can kayak off the coast or enjoy some
diving or snorkeling opportunities in the area. Horseback tours can also be
arranged to the nearby Nauyaca Waterfalls, or one can visit the Marino
Ballena National Park, which is home to a number of marine mammals like
turtles and whales that come here seasonally to mate and nest. If you like,
you can take a short day trip to the lovely Ca?o Island just off the coast.
This island is considered one of the best adventure diving spots in the
world and is home to an impressive array of underwater marine life.
Tortuguero
Tortuguero National Park is one of Costa Rica’s most biologically diverse
wildlife areas. Featuring one of the most verdant landscapes in the country,
the 26,156 hectare park was created with the main purpose of protecting the
green sea turtle nesting area. Tortuguero owes its very wet tropical forest
to the 5000 to 6000 millimeters of rain it receives per year. These climatic
conditions are favorable to more than 400 tree species, around 2200 species
of other plants and more than 400 birds, 60 amphibian and 30 fresh water
fish species, as well as several endangered animals including tapirs,
monkeys, ocelots, jaguars, manatees and sloths. Tortuguero is characterized
by beautifully scenic canals, lagoons and rivers that may be toured by boat,
canoe or kayak. In addition to the green turtle, three other sea turtle
species nest on the park’s beaches.
Arenal Volcano
The Arenal Volcano area is one of Costa Rica’s top attractions. Only 3 hours
away from San Jos?, in the town of La Fortuna, stands a majestic 1,633m
volcano, known to be one of the most active in the world. Despite its
constant activity, the volcano is very safe to visit as long as you stay
within the safety perimeter. In this area take advantage of the pristine
natural surroundings! Go fishing, horseback riding; take a canopy tour,
rafting or experience a tremendous canyon expedition. Whatever you decide,
be sure to visit the relaxing hot springs in the area, the most famous being
Tabacon and Baldi.
La Fortuna and Surroundings
Often simply referred to as La Fortuna, the town of La Fortuna de San Carlos
is the gateway to the magnificent Arenal Volcano. A charming and quiet town,
La Fortuna is easily accessible from the capital city San Jose, and offers
some panoramic views of the spectacular Arenal, Costa’s Rica’s most active
volcano. Sitting around 10 kilometers away from town and regularly spewing
smoke and ash for some time now, the Volcan Arenal is the country’s top
rated tourist attraction and is indeed a sight to behold.
Over the last few years in particular, La Fortuna has become quite a
bustling town. However, there are plenty of accommodations, hotels and
resorts here to suit every budget. A must try when in La Fortuna are the
amazing resort spas surrounding the volcano. On a clear day you can watch
the volcano erupt and if you wait for nightfall, the Arenal puts on a
brilliant show with bright red rocks tumbling down its sides.
Beside the volcano, this town has other great tourist attractions like the
La Catarata de la Fortuna, Tabacon Hot Springs, white water rafting, hiking
excursions, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, horseback riding, canopy tours and
Ca?o Negro Boat Tours are just some of the many activities that one can
enjoy while you are here.
Malpais
Malpais is situated on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica on the southern tip
of the Nicoya Peninsula.
Also known as the Hawaii of Latin America, there are several beaches to
swim, dive or snorkel though it’s main attraction is it’s unique conditions
for surfing and it’s pristine subtropical nature. Horseback riding,
sportfishing, canopy tours, scuba, and nature tours make up some of the
other popular activities nearby. Malpais is a community unlike any other in
Costa Rica with a strong surf culture and a the laid-back atmosphere that
maintains the type of earthy tourism that made Costa Rica famous.
MalPais boasts a great selection of places to stay and eat from camping on
the beach to luxurious resorts and a wide range of activities. Without a
doubt it’s a very attractive place to relax and enjoy the golden rays of the
Pacific sunset.
Turrialba Valley
With some stunning views of Costa Rica’s rural countryside, Turrialba is a
charming little town in the lush and beautiful Central Valley in Cartago
province. Famous for being a white water rafting hotspot and base camp, this
town lies 53 km east of the capital city San Jos? and is an excellent place
to tour the pre-Columbian ruins at Guayabo National Monument, or the rarely
visited but lovely Parque Nacional Volcan Turrialba. A quiet town, Turrialba
with its charming street corners and gorgeous surrounding sceneries is among
the few places in Costa Rica with direct access to a volcano’s crater. From
the summit of the volcano, you can on a clear day, see the Irazu, Po?s and
Barva volcanoes in the distance Botanists and gardeners will want to pay a
visit to the Center for Agronomy Research and Development (CATIE), which is
located 5km (3 miles) southeast of Turrialba on the road to Siquirres. This
center is one of the world’s foremost facilities for research into tropical
agriculture.

Getting ‘safely’ Through Airport Security http://balashiha.su/?p=3945 http://balashiha.su/?p=3945#respond Fri, 19 Nov 2010 07:04:37 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=3945 Getting ‘safely’ Through Airport Security

Want to get through airport security with time to spare?

To do that, you’ve got to know what the rules are.

If you have liquids/lotions (non-prescription) in bottles over 3 oz/100 ml, put them in your to-be-checked luggage. If you try to carry them on, chances are good the security agent will take them from you. If you need them, you can buy bottles of water/juice/soda after being cleared.

Leave at home the pocket knife and tools. Put them in our checked luggage if you need them at your destination.

For liquids that you want to take in your carry-on, get a one quart resealable bag. Each bottle/container must be less than 100 ml/3 fl oz. I take travel sized items, such as toothpaste, shampoo, sunscreen, shaving cream, etc, to have for the first day or two. Then I go to a local supermarket and buy regular sized items for the remainder of the trip.

The first security person you approach will want to see your photo ID and boarding pass. Have them out and ready to show. Photo ID must be government issued like a driver’s license or passport.

Don’t hog the area by the conveyer belt. Move aside as you put into the plastic bins all metal from your pockets, your shoes, your laptop, the one quart bag with liquids, jacket/purse/briefcase/etc. Use more than one bin if necessary. Keep in your hand the boarding pass and your photo ID.

If there is room on the table, push your tubs/carry-on along. Make room on the table for travelers behind you.

The security person on the other side of the metal detector will wave you through. Wait for this. NOW push your items onto the moving conveyer belt. You want to get through the metal detector before your belongings come out the other side of the xray machine.

Pick up your belongings and move out of the way. Put your jacket back on later. Take a chair to put your shoes back on. Now you can put everything away, except for your boarding pass, and head for your flight. Bon Voyage!

(What I’ve written here applies to security in US airports. I’ve been through several international airports in the past year and it is impossible to state what will or will not be allowed through airport security. And to make sure you are current on US airport security rules, just before you leave, check out the Transportation Security Administration traveler’s site. )

Anyone that is arranging vehicle hire at Manchester Airport this year will probably be in for a shock. If you are returning your vehicle hire to Manchester Airport. As soon as you’ve finished the documents and returned the car towards the vehicle rental return vehicle park.

All voyagers who’re catching a flight in the airport will now need to go through a full body scanner. The x ray style machine has been a little dubious to say the least. Any traveler flying from the airport is required to pass by means of the scanner ahead of boarding a flight.

Added security measures have been implanted since February this year. If any of the travellers refuse to take part in the new physical structure scanner they will not be in a position to catch their flight. The artwork are displayed in black and white not colour. The physique scanner has a separate pc which scans the artwork but can not retain the pictures around the personal computer.

This could be the a part of the procedure which holds the most controversial views. The majority of people are afraid the artwork will be stored and reused once more by numerous members of the public who ought to not have any legal proper to admittance.

The member of staff who’s looking at the artwork around the scanner. They won’t have entry to viewing the passengers who are walking by way of the scanners. Each part of the course of action is separate. This would be to try and prevent passengers privacy from been invaded.

Bus Hire: How to Make it a Little Bit Easier for You http://balashiha.su/?p=1589 http://balashiha.su/?p=1589#respond Wed, 02 Jun 2010 01:14:13 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=1589 Bus Hire: How to Make it a Little Bit Easier for You

Searching for a bus hire can be time-consuming, especially if you always end up with the wrong one: a company that could not accommodate your request or one that doesn’t meet your standards. Fortunately, today, it’s possible to have different kinds of alternatives for your bus hire, making it convenient for you to choose and pick.
What You Can Expect from a Bus Hire
When you speak of bus hire nowadays, you’re actually talking of choices. There are plenty of them, considering the hundreds of providers and operators that belong to the company and located in different parts of the world, including UK. However, they may differ according to the following:
1. Size of the bus. The buses can range from very small to the extremely large ones. This is to make sure that they can accommodate the number of passengers or travelers that would want to rent the bus.
2. Number of persons who are going to travel. Majority of these bus hires are ideal for groups, because of their seating capacities. Nevertheless, you can still come up with a group of between 10 and 15 people, which is actually considered a small one.
3. Tours you want to avail. Some buses are ideal for long hours of travel, or even for overnight stay, whilst others are just suitable for a weekend or a one-day tour. You can also hire a bus for airport transfers. Regardless, you may have to coordinate with any customer service representative from IMG Coach, since the prices may vary. He/she can help you maximise your budget, so you don’t end up getting shortchanged in the end.
Things to Know about Bus Hires
The rules regarding buses for hire may differ from one company to another. There are also regulations set by the government for the industry. Commonly, though, here are the basics:
