There are a number of places that you can go and visit in Brazil, South America. There is only one place that is truly unforgettable Grande Sert?o Veredas Park is that place. Its landscapes are covered with enormous amounts of bio and ecological diversity. Along with some of the local towns you can experience some of the historic buildings and cobblestone streets.

Along with visiting these places I do have a couple of suggestions for you.

* One of the premier places to visit is the The Amazonia National Park which is also known to the locals as ‘The Green Inferno’  It is named this because of the great expanse of natural ecological and biological diversity that covers a great majority of the Brazilian landscape.

* The Pantanal, is another location in the same area that is great for watching the local wildlife emerge from there hiding places. It is amazing to see, hear and experience wildlife in their natural habitat.

As you travel in brazil another place that is a must sea is the Atlantic coast and its beaches but be arned in the summer time the water off the coast can be notoriously rough and cold due to the currents and under-tones.

In most of the surrounding country you are looking at around 30 dollars for accommodations, about 20 for food, ect… so if you do plan to stay for awhile in Brazil a month or so it may be best to keep around 1500 on a credit card or bank account which you can remove via ATM as spending money. But if you go off the beaten track a little bit and stay away from the touristy spots you can expect to pay much less for the same services.

Only carry as much as you are comfortable carrying with you in terms of money and valuables. You will need cash and not simply Credit cards, Travelers checques, ect… you can save quite a bit by using it. But Brazil in areas is still a small country and not everyone will take credit cards outside the cities. So make sure you do plan accordingly. Traveler’s cheques can be a hassle because there is only a couple of banks (Banco de Brazil, etc) in Brazil where you can exchange them commission free.

But these places and with a little planning you can have a experience of a lifetime in Brazil. If you would like more information regarding brazil. Places to see, visit, eat, or even move as an expat. Or just the local news please visit and book mark my website on brazil at  www.brazilgringo.com

Use Concierge Services to the Best http://balashiha.su/?p=10111 http://balashiha.su/?p=10111#respond Fri, 29 Jul 2011 20:54:48 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=10111 Use Concierge Services to the Best

When we are on a tour, we usually desire that our groceries should be ordered, delivered and kept aside before we come home. This can be dealt with in various ways. However the most economical one is to offer a credit card number as well as budget to the concierge service to spend and grocery list to buy. However it is important to be practical with this budget as against the list. An expert concierge can easily do it for you. So you can save and enjoy the luxury of reaching the property to see it is stocked as per your wish.
If you love any activity like golfing, diving or fishing and intend to do it on your holiday, then ask a concierge to book a suitable excursion activity for you beforehand, so you can rest assured you can do it during your holidays. Actually, a concierge service can schedule any event beforehand. Make good use of this service. You will be surprised that a lot of it can be done either for free or at nominal cost.
A good concierge can understand their clients very well. They do have all the requisite information about local events like dates, times, tickets and availability. While information is priceless but is quite cheap.
Looking to go biking or seeing a local play? The concierge service can rent a bike or book tickets for you. They can deliver a newspaper or collect your clothes from laundry. All you need to do is simply ring them up. But the best part is the service does not cost much. But it will let you enjoy a carefree vacation.

Dealing with Lost Airline Luggage http://balashiha.su/?p=2557 http://balashiha.su/?p=2557#respond Sat, 25 Jun 2011 10:19:55 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=2557 Dealing with Lost Airline Luggage

The satisfaction derived from purchasing cheap airplane tickets, finding discount hotel rooms, or securing cheap vacation packages, is quickly diminished if your airline loses your luggage.  Getting reimbursed for lost luggage can prove tricky.

The first thing a passenger needs to do once he discovers that his bag is lost is to go to the baggage claim office at the airport he flew in and report the missing bag.

The good news is that airlines are required to reimburse travelers for clothing and toiletries as a result of lost or delayed bags, according to DOT (Department of Transportation).  The bad news is that reimbursement details are left up to each individual airline.

Some carriers initially deny compensation to customer for purchases made within the first 24 hours followed a reported loss, and/or deny claims for inbound flights on the grounds that passengers have other clothes they can wear already at home. Both positions, according to DOT, are violations of its regulations.  DOT’s position is that fliers purchasing necessities after they file a missing bag claim should be reimbursed vs. having to wait to see if their bag is returned.

Almost 2.2 million pieces of luggage were reported mishandled by airlines in the U.S. last year.  Airlines maximum liability for lost luggage is $3,300 for domestic flights.  The maximum for international flights is only $640.  Airlines are not required to refund checked baggage fees for lost luggage.

Although airlines are required to reimburse for clothing, the amount is negotiable.   Airlines typically make filing a claim as difficult as possible, asking you to prove (via such things as receipts) the value of your lost clothing.  The DOT does not get involved in monitoring or recommending airline reimbursement rates.

Airline customer confusion and frustration in getting claims paid often ultimately benefits the airline.  Customer claims that are not followed up on by the customer often go unreimbursed.  Airlines retain the right to approve or reject any claim.

Persistence is sometimes needed to get a fair resolution for a claim of lost bags.  The DOT recommends that passengers who claims are denied should file a claim with the Aviation Consumer Protection and Enforcement Office.

Simple Tips on Choosing the Right Motorhome Rental http://balashiha.su/?p=187 http://balashiha.su/?p=187#respond Fri, 06 May 2011 17:02:26 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=187 5 Simple Tips on Choosing the Right Motorhome Rental

You can do this by matching your needs to the motorhome with the best or closest match. Firstly, consider how many passengers you’d have or berths that you would need. In this case, the beds that you would be needing with the people travelling. This is the first thing to consider and must be right the first time. This will decide and help you narrow your motorhome choices. Berths range from 2 berths, 3 berths, 4, 5 and even 6 berths. Note that double beds count as 2 berths in some motorhomes, so take care in choosing.

Next, what facilities would you need? Determine how self-sufficient you’d want to be. Possibilities include toilet, heating, shower, kitchen, storage, batteries or power and gas heating. Note that even a small motorhome has all the facilities and probably would have smaller water tanks and fridge, too. Which means, you’d have to “service” your vehicle more often that with a larger version. If you are arranging for camping away from campsites, then you’d want to be self-sufficient as possible and take note of the facilities you would need. But in case you’d be planning to stay in campsites during most of your time, you may take the opportunity to avail of the modern campsite facilities such as a shower and toilet. Which also means you wouldn’t be constantly refilling your water tank. Small campervans may meet all the self-sufficiency requirements, but they can be limited when it comes to comfort and space. Consider the lay-out and access in this case.

When you’ve got that covered, how long will you be on your trip? How long you will be away is a deciding factor with creature comforts. Consider the living space you’d want to have for a week’s trip, and so forth. The limited space is often a big factor for children. Fresh water and waste water tanks mean frequent refilling and emptying of cassettes and tanks.

Would you be driving most of the time? Or would you rather spend it most of the time on campsites? Whatever your travel plans are, just be cautious that some areas and roads have restrictions when it comes to motorhomes. Driving a motorhome is entirely different than driving a family van. Consider the width restrictions on the area you would be visiting. Motorhomes oftentimes could be too wide in some roads. Consider the flexibility of your motorhome, the maneuverability and dimensions, especially with high tops. Rental operators can help you with this one.

Finally, the budget! Obviously motorhomes aren’t cheap. This is because of the age of the vehicle, the amenities, and the design of the motorhome. Which is good news, because this means that this can be a good initial investment. Rent the newest vehicle that they would have, aging from 0 – 3 years.

Renting a motorhome can be of great value, as it is cheaper in some ways. Give it a try on your next vacation.

Health And Safety Tips For Visitors to Africa http://balashiha.su/?p=4307 http://balashiha.su/?p=4307#respond Sun, 12 Dec 2010 18:57:52 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=4307 Health And Safety Tips For Visitors to Africa

You need to let us know when you book if there are any long term or chronic medical problems that you suffer from. When you are on tour you can not just assume that if you feel sick it will pass. Your overland crew are experienced in dealing with a variety of tropical diseases but are not doctors. If you are feeling ill then you must tell them immediately. The overland crew know the correct procedures to follow to get you to the nearest medical centre. If you are feeling sick when you arrive back in your home country then inform your local doctor and tell them where in Africa you have travelled.
Tummy Bugs

You could be visited by the ‘upset tummy’ bug at some stage during your overland tour. If food seems to go out as quickly as it goes in then make sure you drink plenty of liquids, use re-hydration salts and stay on dry food for a couple of days. It is very easy for that nasty bug to go around the whole group and hygiene plays a very important role. Always wash your hands after having gone to the toilet, wash your hands before touching any food and do not share water bottles.

General Safety Tips on your Overland Tour

If you are on a guided Africa Overland tour your chances of encountering problems are minimal. Tour operators make it their business to know the areas they travel in thus reducing risk to travellers. However, it is sensible to take normal precautions on your African safari, particularly when travelling through urban areas.

Travel Documents / Money

Always have a photocopy of your passport and any visas. Also, have a list of traveller’s cheque numbers and the purchase receipt. These copies should be packed separately from the originals. It is never a good idea to carry large amounts of cash and most urban centres (hotels, shops) accept debit and credit cards (Visa and Mastercard and any debit card with the Maestro or Cirrus logo are most common), and traveller’s cheques. You will usually need local cash for purchases at local markets – keep this in a travel wallet, or a zip pocket.

Luggage

Never leave cameras and hand luggage unattended whether in a vehicle or even in a hotel foyer. Never pack valuables (including medication) in your check-in luggage.

Personal Safety

When travelling independently on your Africa overland tour, stay informed in terms of the local news. Ask at your hotel about any unsafe areas, and codes of dress and behaviour. Don’t openly carry valuables. If you must carry your passport and money keep them in a buttoned-down front pocket.

Game Viewing

Your guide will always do a safety talk with you whether your game viewing is to be done from a vehicle or on foot. Wildlife is potentially dangerous but as long as you adhere to what you guide tells you there is very little to worry about. At viewpoints, hides and camps, wildlife is more familiar with people and less intimidated by your presence. Never tease or corner wild animals – this may cause an unpredictable response and a potentially dangerous reaction. Never feed any animals, as this can cause them to lose their fear of humans.

Creepy Crawlies

Although Africa is known to be home to a number of potentially dangerous species – especially snakes, scorpions, spiders, and some nasty insects – very few visitors are adversely affected. Snakes tend to be shy and generally stay away from built-up areas. Lodges and camps often have insect (especially mosquito) proofing in their rooms and tents have built in protection. If you go on a walk, it is always a good idea to wear comfortable, enclosed walking shoes, socks, and long trousers – just as a precaution.

Find yourself One of the Many Bargain Holidays http://balashiha.su/?p=3502 http://balashiha.su/?p=3502#respond Wed, 24 Nov 2010 05:16:56 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=3502 Find yourself One of the Many Bargain Holidays

If you are looking for a cheap holiday abroad or in the UK, there are a number of key issues to remember and you need to be prepared to hunt around and compare prices and venues. You also need to be flexible in order to get the best deals.

Today’s climate means that bargain holidays are hard to find but if you keep an open mind as to the time and location of where you want to travel, you can bag a bargain. Self catering accommodation has always seemed the best bet but sometimes half board and even full board can work out cheaper as you don’t have the cost of eating. If you are travelling with a larger group of people, always consider all-inclusive deals which are fantastic value in terms of the costs of meals and drinks.

You probably won’t get a good bargain if you decide to travel in the traditional summer holidays of July and August but if you look around two months before and two months afterwards, when the weather in the most popular resorts is still good, then you may get a good deal. Be flexible with time and be prepared to travel within weeks sometimes days of booking, as some large tour operators sell of empty seats on their less popular flights.

The internet is an excellent medium to help you find bargain holidays rather than having to haul yourself around travel agents. It’s quick and up to date, but beware, bargains are very often snapped up within minutes of them being posted. Also keep your eyes open for cancellations – although they are few and far between, they do happen and you can get them at a discounted rate as the tour operators just want to ensure that the plane and hotels are full. To ensure that you are getting a real bargain, check out some of the compare websites that have sprung up.

If you fancy a break in the UK, keep your eyes peeled for deals in newspapers that offer a break for under ?10 per person per night. These can work out to be very good value for money if you are flexible about when you can take a break.

Loyalty Points V Air Miles – What’s Best to Collect http://balashiha.su/?p=5987 http://balashiha.su/?p=5987#respond Fri, 11 Jun 2010 13:20:02 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=5987 Loyalty Points V Air Miles – What’s Best to Collect?

Collecting loyalty points is big business, whether it’s while shopping at stores, in the form of air miles or as hotel points, each scheme has tens of millions of collectors in the USA. But, whether some offer better value than others is totally dependent upon your individual circumstances, especially how much you spend, and how often you travel and stay in hotels.

Air Miles was launched as an innovative loyalty scheme in 1981 by American Airlines. Originally, air miles could only be earned by flying with that particular airline but now miles can be accumulated without the need to take to the skies. Collectors can earn points through purchases as partners to the scheme, such as major stores, gas stations and by using affinity credit cards.

But how do air miles schemes work? The answer is simple – they are funded by people who are awarded miles but never actually redeem them. The scheme company buys air miles from the airline which are then awarded to their customers. The airline gets revenue from the partners for many more air miles than it ever has to redeem.

Many people typically collect a handful of points in a year or two, which is not enough to get a free flight, so would-be collectors simply forget about their miles and let them lapse. That suits the airlines as they get revenue for the miles they sell knowing that they have cash up front for seats they may have to give away in the future.

However, it is the difficulty in earning a reasonable amount of miles that encourages people to look at whether other loyalty schemes are better for them. For example, a typical hotel loyalty scheme tends to offer much better value in terms of the percentage of reward given against the amount spent; a one night stay with many of the better hotels can earn you as much as approximately 50% of the points required for a free night’s stay. So, paying for two night’s accommodation would effectively earn enough points for a one night free stay in many schemes. That’s good news if you aren’t disciplined enough to ensure that you organise all your personal spending to collect air miles, but you do enjoy the occasional weekend away or extended vacation during the year.

Of course, air miles may be best for you if you fly frequently on business. But, that doesn’t mean that you can’t also take advantage of a hotel loyalty scheme, especially if you opt to stay in a major chain’s hotels when you do travel. That way you could collect enough miles to get you to your destination for free and the hotel loyalty scheme would cover your accommodation – perfect!

Popular Vacation Spots That are Perfect for the Holidays http://balashiha.su/?p=7004 http://balashiha.su/?p=7004#respond Sat, 05 Jun 2010 10:14:06 +0000 http://balashiha.su/?p=7004 Popular Vacation Spots That are Perfect for the Holidays

Many people get time off over the holidays, and they want to make the most of that time. There are plenty of places where you can spend the holidays enjoying a lovely vacation. Disneyland and Disney World are among the busiest places on holidays, including Christmas day. People of all ages find the magic kingdoms to be a delightful place to make memories for the holidays with their entire family.

Since Thanksgiving falls on a Thursday, many people find themselves with a four or five day weekend over that period of time. Going to Las Vegas is a great place to spend this holiday as it is always alive with action 24 hours per day. You will also find plenty of restaurants in Las Vegas that offer you the best Thanksgiving Day meal you have ever been a part of.

Las Vegas is also one of the most popular locations for New Years Eve. The entire strip is shut down from traffic and people are dancing, drinking, and having a good time in the streets. Many people compare it to the activities taking place in New Orleans for Mardi Gras.

Spring break is a very popular holiday for the high school and college crowds. They often choose to spend that time at various beaches including those in Florida and California. Hotels are over run with these people having parties all night long and then spending their days at the beach.

Most of these beaches host fabulous activities during spring break to make sure people keep coming back year after year. Live music, dances, and various contests are just a sample of the different contests you can enter. Since spring break falls differently for various schools, these beaches are often full from the second week of March until the very end of the month.

Surprising someone you love with a fun vacation to another country or a part of the world they have always wanted to see is a great way to share the holidays. Imagine waking up Christmas morning in Spain or Paris instead of at home. There are plenty of great places that you can see during the holidays so don’t limit your options.

The down side to traveling to popular vacation spots for the holidays is that they are in demand. That means you will likely pay more to visit them during that time of year than normal. You will also need to make your reservations early or you will find that all the flights or the hotels have sold out and you won’t be able to spend the holidays there.

Take a look at various vacation package deals to help you save as much money as possible when you take a vacation over the holidays. Most package deals for travel include your airfare, hotel accommodations, and a rental car if you want one. You can also choose to add tickets for shows or events you want to take part in.

Once you have decided where you want to spend the holidays, you can start comparing prices. Find out what your local travel agent can offer you and surf the internet on your own. Don’t forget to look in the travel section of the newspaper or to take advantage of advertisements you get in the mail. For many people the ability to be able to take a vacation over the holidays will depend on the price they are able to get the trip for.

There will also be more people to deal with at that particular vacation spot over the holidays in most instances. If you don’t like being a part of a large crowd or you hate to wait in line, you will want to prepare yourself for these issues while vacationing over the holidays. This way you can focus on having a great time instead of getting stressed out over such issues that you have no control over.
