Getting Around In Bangkok

If you come to visit Bangkok for the first time, one of the first things you will notice is the busy streets and the traffic. The city is very different from other cities in Europe. Don’t get your holiday ruined by hours of waiting in traffic! Reading this article will take approximately 5 minutes, and those five minutes can save you endless hours of waiting.

The busiest part of Bangkok is right in the middle. Around the edges of the city, the streets are a bit more calm. When travelling anywhere around Bangkok, you should always use as much public transport as possible. Trains are better than taxis because they don’t get stuck in traffic.

The best method of getting from A to B is by using the BTS Skytrain. As the name suggests, it’s higher up than the roads. The Skytrain is connected to most of the shopping centers, so it’s a perfect choice of transport for a shopping tour. Once you get there, you will have to buy a ticket; there are one way tickets available and also a day ticket, which you can use as much as you want in a day.

Another option is to get a ‘Smartpass’; this is a credit-card sized plastic card which you refill with money and then just swipe it on a sensor at the entrance gate. This is the best option if you decide to stay for quite a while. Another form of transport in the MRT, which is a subway line. This also connects to popular places like shopping malls.

The BTS station connects with the MRT at three different stations, so it is easy to just jump out of the BTS and head a few floors down, to the subway. The ticket system in the MRT is very similar to the one in the Skytrain. There are also tickets available which work for both the subway and the raised train. To get to places which are not connected to either of the train systems, you will need to take road transport.

Taxi is a good choice, but can be slow because of traffic. An alternative would be a motorbike taxi as they can squeeze through traffic easily. The downside of the motorbike taxi is that it can be quite dangerous on the busy roads of Bangkok, Thailand. And if the trip is not too short, walking is also an alternative. Have a safe trip and a great holiday!!

Let the fun begin on family breaks at UK holiday parks

We all look forward to a break whether this is a bank holiday weekend where we can go away for 3 days or the Easter or summer holidays where we can have a family break that last longer for around a week or 2. However long you go for, make sure that you choose the right place and when it comes to family holidays you need to make sure that there is something for the whole family to do.

Some people like to choose a holiday where they can sit back and relax and some like to choose a break where they can get involved with everything going on. Whatever type of family you are a trip to a holiday park is just right for you as there is so much going on you will be able to make the most of your break and enjoy it just the way you want to. Each member of the family likes to do different things as the ages will obviously vary and everyone will want to do different things.

The benefit of visiting the holiday parks is that they are located on some of the nice beaches in the UK including Skegness and Minehead. This means that if the weather is kind to you during your stay there you can make the most of it by relaxing on the beaches to get some sunshine and maybe work on your tan. There are plenty of things that you can do at the holiday parks and whether you want to fill your day with activities or just kick back and relax you can do exactly what you want.

If you have little ones then there is plenty for them to do as well as there are designated areas where they can play and enjoy some games under the supervision of trained staff so you can let them have their fun whilst you spend some time with your partner or just pamper yourself and enjoy the family break that you have worked hard for. In the evening after everyone has freshened up in their superb and comfortable rooms, you can sit back and let the acts on stage entertain you and with popular performances from contestants and winners of famous shows such as X-Factor and Britain’s Got Talent as well as a host of top performers. You certainly will never get bored during your stay at the holiday parks.

If you fancy an Easter weekend break then you can go online where you will find the best deals on all UK family breaks.

Sanibel And Captiva Are Sister Islands With Distinct Differences

It’s an amazing fact of life that two small barrier islands in such proximity can have their own distinct identity. But then again, even “identical” twins can be very different so perhaps it is not so amazing that Sanibel Island and Captiva Island, only minutes from one another, can be compared on their differences.
And people coming to the area should certainly take advantage of the two islands as they both offer something of value.
Sanibel is the larger of the two islands and home to the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge.
Five thousand acres of Sanibel Island are preserved lands. The Refuge was named for J. Norwood Darling, a man who was a Pulitzer prize winning political cartoonist and who used his art to support conservation. For many years, Darling had a winter home in Florida on Captiva Island but it was Sanibel that had the land that was acquired for the Refuge. The Refuge is probably the most distinguishing characteristic of Sanibel Island, as well as its saving grace in the face of any threat of development.
Of course one could stay on Captiva and bike or drive over to the wildlife refuge, but there is something particularly immediate and attractive in staying on Sanibel within an easy walk to the Refuge.
Both Sanibel and Captiva have some great restaurants, but Captiva has a greater feeling of village center. It’s not a large center, but it is a definable geo area, quaint and charming, as opposed to Sanibel where the stores and restaurants are scattered through out the island.
Sanibel offers a greater variety of accommodations and a greater spread in price range. So families, couples or singles seeking lodging will find both less expensive options and more variety in their housing alternatives on Sanibel.
There are more shops and a greater diversity of shops on Sanibel and both of the larger grocery stores, Jerry’s and Bailey’s, are on Sanibel. One charm for Captiva, however, is the easy access to boating adventures.
So before choosing your island, maybe it’s worth weighing the pros and cons of each. Either way, you’ll be happy.

Going to Africa for family holiday destination

Wildlife has been one of the top favourite destinations to go these days. Family holiday to Africa is a perfect choice for all the member of family to enjoy. It would be the most enjoyable for children as they can see “Lion King” on their own naked eyes. It is different from zoo where most of the animals are in cage, you and your family can view the wildlife in Africa in their own natural habitat and also educational for your children.

Do check the hotel deals before you book for your Africa hotel.

One of the top destinations for wildlife spotting in Africa is in East Africa, Kenya. In fact, Kenya is said to be ” the Jewel of East Africa”. After you and your family has decided to go to Kenya, you must experience the national reserve.

I have chosen 3 of the famous National reserve in Kenya; Masai Mara National Reserve, Samburu National Reserve and Amboseli National Park. Masai Mara has been the more desirable destination of wildlife reserve in Kenya. It has many of the famous wildlife such as lions, crocodiles, wildebeest, buffalo, leopard, elephants, cheetah, hyena and many more. One day in Masai Mara is not enough to see it all and in fact, the reserve might attract you and your family to keep going back again. If you are lucky, you can spot thousand of animals during your visit. If you want to see the whole Masai Mara and explore futher, there is other option; taking balloon safari. Samburu Reserve and Amboseli national park is top choice for East Africa family outing too.

If you were to visit South Africa, Kruger National Park is the most famous attraction. Kruger National Park has hundreds of different spicies of birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles and fish. See all the top 5 animals of Kruger National Park; elephant, lion, buffalo, rhino and leopard.

You and your family can also drive yourself in the park. Your family is sure to be all busying spotting animals during the trip. Other than the Kruger National Park, South Africa also offer a lot other fun activities for family holiday.

Golden Reef city is where you can find all the entertainment for families; casino, theme park which also offer one of the thrillers ride in the world, and unique Apartheid museum, that is a must see. Visit also Table mountains, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Sun City (which is famous for massive Valley of Waves waterparks), Cape Pint, V & A Waterfront, Robben island (where Nelson Mandela is held in prison), view African penguins at Boulders beach, Two Oceans aquarium. Visit Africa to have amazing experience that you might only experience together with your family once in a lifetime. Africa is one of the best destinations for perfect, memorable family holiday with the remarkable wildlife, beautiful scenery and fantastic family friendly resort or hotel. Do not forget to bring your camcorder and your camera during your travel to East Africa or South Africa.

During your travel, you might want to make a call and share your travel experience. Use phone card or calling card to save on the calls.
